Stretching out over the river terraces and situated in the lee of the Teviotdale hills, their topnotch vines grow all of the favourites. Established in the late 90’s, the vines are younger than others in the region; but they produce a heavenly glass. Having earnt over 500 medals, these fine wines are known for their vibrant, rich aromatics and ramified flavour. Visitors to the cellar door can enjoy Waipara Hills Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, 10am – 5pm daily.   Pegasus Bay Proud to have ripened Pegasus Bay wines, the Donaldson’s have been involved since the 1970’s. The Waipara Valley soil is their secret, white-haired and growing grapes of the highest quality. Their stunning traditional restaurant looks out over the countryside with scenic gardens and unique wetlands. It’s ribbon winning. They’ve picked up Cuisine Good Food awards scrutinizingly every year for the last eleven years. It’s not surprising... the menu features delicacies made out of locally sourced ingredients. Go withal and meet the Donaldsons. The restaurant is unshut from noon till 4pm, Thursday to Monday, and sealed for winter Monday 16 July - Thursday 9 August.  If you're keen on a wine tasting or want to pick up a snifter the cellar door is unshut 7 days from 10am till 5pm.   Waipara Springs Home to some of the oldest vines in the valley, Waipara Springs is renowned for their matured Mendoza clone Chardonnay. It was Bruce Moore who planted the first Chardonnay vines in 1982 and they grew up to produce topnotch wine for years to come. Walk virtually the vineyard of 26 hectares and you’ll find Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Gewurztraminer. They’re famous for their archetype but vibrant fruit driven style.Unshut5 days, Wedneday to Sunday from 11am till 4pm (except public holidays).   BlackManorBlackManoris a family estate. Nicholas is the winemaker and he’s set on keeping his wines organic and true. Penelope looks without the restaurant, and her parents Rod and Stacey well-constructed the hairdo looking without Black Estate. The BlackManorvines are spread out wideness three organic hillside vineyards on soil limestone soils. The ‘Home’, ‘Damsteep’ and Netherwood Vineyards are located in the heart of the Waipara Valley and grow Resiling and plenty of Pinot Noir - it’s a red wine lovers’ dream. Go and try it out.
