Named without Amberley in Derbyshire in England, Amberley was founded during the 1860’s. The township has unfurled to grow and is now a substantial service town for threshing and viticulture. Amberley is an platonic country retreat with an 18hole golf course, waterfront and forest walks and the nearby Waipara Valley wine region all on its doorstep. You can find a bed to fit any upkeep - B&B’s, motels, campgrounds and self contained units. Amberley is moreover one for the foodie’s. There is an wide-stretching range of restaurants and cafes, including the ribbon winning Nor'Wester Cafe, providing a variety of choices for everyone’s taste buds. Shhh... don't tell anyone but one of my favourites is the caramel oat slice from Pukeko Junction Cafe. #yum On a Saturday be sure to trammels out the Amberley Farmers Market, held outside the Hurunui District Council, and includes producers from all over the Hurunui district. Bring your own shopping bag and plenty of mazuma (sorry no EFTPOS).Trammelsit out sun, rain, snow or wind. Amberley is a unconfined wiring if you are looking for a transpiration of scene. It’s well-nigh an hour to Hanmer Springs, well-nigh 2 hours to Kaikoura, and only 45 minutes to Christchurch.
